Has my baby got milk allergy?

Many parents often confuse Lactose intolerance with Cow’s milk protein allergy. While babies with lactose intolerance react negatively to milk, this does not involve their immune system. They usually suffer from abdominal distention, explosive loose stools and severe nappy rash. This usually follows a viral stomach/bowel infection. Babies with Cow’s milk allergy have reaction involving the immune system either immediately or delayed. Tests are available for immediate allergy and the treatment is elimination of dairy. Exclusively breast fed babies also get allergy if their mothers are on dairy.
