Why is my baby sick everyday?

Vomiting is one of the commonest complaints for which the parents seek medical advice.  Bringing out little milk after feeds - Possetting, is common due to gastro-oesophageal reflux, a normal condition in babies due to weak ‘valve’ at the lower end of the food pipe. This is the same condition that would have caused heart heartburn in mothers when they were pregnant. Make sure you take time to burp the baby after every feed, especially if they are bottle fed.

Seek advice, if:

  1. Not gaining weight

  2. Unsettled

  3. Arches back and screams in pain

  4. Brings up green bile or brown coloured/blood stained vomit

  5. Has severe skin rashes/ eczema

  6. Has projectile vomiting - vomiting with force

  7. your baby’s urine output low, lips and tongue dry or soft spot on the head is sunken
